2 x On-demand webinar lectures plus post-course CE quiz

Approximate Study Time: approx. 2 hours (self-paced)

Course Overview:

Develop a practical and clinically relevant sonographic approach to evaluating liver disease in dogs and cats. This course explores how liver enzyme changes correlate with sonographic findings and hepatic pathology, helping clinicians better understand “the enzyme chase” and what laboratory trends truly mean in clinical practice.

Participants will learn when ultrasound is indicated in hepatic workups, how to maximize diagnostic efficiency during liver evaluations, and how to approach liver pathology using both traditional and diagnostic-efficiency scanning concepts. Discussions over this 2-part lecture series include patient preparation, sampling techniques, follow-up scans, and practical case examples designed to strengthen diagnostic confidence and workflow.

The course also focuses on ultrasound-guided sampling decisions, including when fine needle aspiration (FNA) may be appropriate versus when biopsy is indicated, helping integrate sonographic findings into complete patient management strategies.

Course Objectives:

By the end of this course, you will know how to

  • Understand how liver enzyme changes correlate with hepatic pathology
  • Recognize indications for liver ultrasound in clinical practice
