Approximate Study Time: 30 minutes
Prerequisite: Students should be familiar with the SDEP® Abdomen Progression before purchasing this module.
Course Overview:
Emergency patients require fast, efficient decision-making, and ultrasound can provide critical clinical information when time matters most.
This advanced SDEP® Abdomen module focuses on applying the established SDEP® framework to critical patients, helping sonographers obtain a complete abdominal image set efficiently and consistently in under five minutes.
Using the same fanning maneuvers, hand-probe manipulations, and cine loop approach from the foundational SDEP® Abdomen protocol, this course introduces a structured 17-point emergency scanning progression that is numbered, referenceable, and designed for rapid clinical communication.
Through step-by-step patient demonstrations and corresponding ultrasound images, Dr. Lindquist walks learners through the probe movements and workflow needed to confidently adapt SDEP® scanning for emergency situations.
This course is a natural advanced extension of the SDEP® Abdomen approach and helps experienced users refine efficiency, maintain consistency, and gather maximum diagnostic information from unstable or critical patients.
