Designed for you to elevate your ultrasound skills from the comfort of your home hospital and on your own ultrasound machine, our LIVE Virtual SDEP® Echo training is suitable for veterinarians and veterinary technicians of all ultrasound experience levels looking to develop a repeatable, structured approach to echocardiography.

Course Overview
Over three days of intensive training, SonoPath’s renowned SDEP® Echo LIVE Virtual Lectures & Ultrasound Training teaches a standardized approach to small animal echocardiography that emphasizes repeatability, efficiency, and clinically relevant image acquisition.
Rather than memorizing isolated views, trainees learn the structured 7-point SDEP® Echo Protocol, allowing complete cardiac studies to be performed consistently while maximizing diagnostic information. The protocol is designed to be readily trainable, referenceable, and applicable in everyday practice.
SonoPath’s world-class virtual training focuses participants learning SDEP® scanning protocols through live, classroom-style instruction with real-time demonstrations and guided scanning exercises hosted via Zoom directly from the SonoPath Education Center. Complemented by Zoom break-out rooms when personalized feedback is needed, attendees learn from SonoPath’s expert educators without having to leave their practice.
The training weekend combines comprehensive lectures with extensive hands-on scanning which is reinforced through two different lecture tracks: one geared towards beginners and veterinary technicians which focuses on technique and the second focusing on pathology. Learning Objectives
By the end of this course, you will be able to:
- Perform a complete echocardiographic examination using the SDEP® Echo Protocol
- Consistently obtain high-quality standard cardiac views
- Improve probe positioning, hand movements, and scanning efficiency
- Better optimize image quality using ultrasound controls and machine settings
- Understand normal cardiac anatomy and echocardiographic landmarks
- Recognize common cardiac abnormalities and understand their clinical significance
- Obtain and optimize Doppler studies for cardiac assessment
- Improve confidence performing complete cardiac examinations in clinical practice
- Apply standardized scanning techniques for improved communication, documentation, and case review
