Course Overview:
Adrenal ultrasound findings can range from clinically significant disease to incidental changes that may not impact patient management. This course provides a practical sonographic approach to adrenal evaluation, helping clinicians understand when adrenal changes should influence case work-up and when findings may represent normal variation or age-related changes.
 
Through a combination of sonographic examples, pathology discussions, and clinical considerations, learners will explore the normal adrenal appearance, common adrenal abnormalities, and the spectrum of adrenal disease seen in dogs and cats.
 
Topics include adrenal enlargement, adrenal “burnout,” Addisonian adrenal changes, adrenal masses, and the sonographic differences between non-invasive and invasive adrenal disease. The course also incorporates SonoPath research findings and practical decision-making considerations, including when adrenal abnormalities may warrant surgical consultation.
