Course Overview:
Develop a practical, step-by-step approach to imaging the Common Bile Duct (CBD) and pancreatic duct in dogs and cats. This course focuses on confidently locating and evaluating the CBD, understanding normal anatomy, and recognizing the spectrum from normal to mildly abnormal through to clearly pathological presentations.
Through guided video instruction and image review, you will learn how to consistently obtain views, interpret findings in a clinical context, and troubleshoot some common scanning challenges. Real-world examples in both dogs and cats reinforce pattern recognition and help translate the course information into every day clinical application.
Course Objectives:
By the end of this course, you will know how to
- Consistently locate and image the common bile duct (CBD) during abdominal ultrasound
- Identify normal CBD and pancreatic duct anatomy in dogs and cats
- Differentiate normal and pathological presentations
- Apply practical scanning adjustments to improve diagnostic image quality
