Designed for you to elevate your ultrasound skills from the comfort of your home hospital and on your own ultrasound machine, our LIVE Virtual SDEP® Abdomen training is suitable for veterinarians and veterinary technicians of all ultrasound experience levels looking to develop a repeatable, structured approach to abdominal ultrasound. Whether you're scanning for the first time or refining established skills, attendees are paired with SDEP®-certified instructors based on their individual experience and learning goals to ensure personalized progression throughout the weekend.

Course Overview
Over three days of intensive training, SonoPath's renowned SDEP® Abdomen LIVE Virtual Lectures & Ultrasound Training teaches a standardized, efficient approach to abdominal ultrasound that can be immediately implemented in daily clinical practice. Unique to SonoPath’s training is our standardized protocol: the SDEP® (Sonographic Diagnostic Efficiency Protocol), where attendees learn the structured 17-point abdominal scanning progression designed to improve consistency, image quality, diagnostic confidence, and efficient workflow.
SonoPath’s world-class virtual training focuses participants learning SDEP® scanning protocols through live, classroom-style instruction with real-time demonstrations and guided scanning exercises hosted via Zoom directly from the SonoPath Education Center. Complemented by Zoom break-out rooms when personalized feedback is needed, attendees learn from SonoPath’s expert educators without having to leave their practice.
The training weekend combines comprehensive lectures with extensive hands-on scanning, allowing attendees to immediately apply newly learned techniques in their practice. With two lecture tracks to choose from—a beginner technique-focused track and a pathology-focused track—attendees can focus their attention on exactly what they need to elevate their skills.
The general weekend schedule is 8:00am - 5:00pm (Eastern Standard Time).
Attendees also receive lifetime access to online educational resources, including all recorded lectures (even those you didn’t attend), technique videos, and bonus educational materials to continue developing their skills after the course.
Learning Objectives
By the end of this course, you will be able to:
- Perform the complete SDEP® 17-Point Abdominal Ultrasound Protocol
- Develop efficient probe handling, hand positioning, and scanning techniques
- Recognize normal abdominal anatomy and common sonographic abnormalities
- Improve image acquisition and overall scanning efficiency
- Build confidence performing complete abdominal ultrasound examinations
