The SDEP® Educational Package (details below)
This course is suitable for beginners through advanced sonographers including veterinarians & veterinary technicians.
Course Overview
Over three days of intensive, personalized training, SonoPath's renowned SDEP® Abdomen Lectures & Hands-On Ultrasound Training teaches a standardized, efficient approach to abdominal ultrasound that can be immediately implemented in daily clinical practice. Unique to SonoPath is our standardized protocol: the SDEP® (Sonographic Diagnostic Efficiency Protocol), where attendees learn a structured 17-point abdominal scanning progression designed to improve consistency, image quality, diagnostic confidence, and efficient workflow.
Unlike traditional ultrasound courses where every participant follows the same pace, SonoPath’s world-class training matches attendees with instructors according to their existing experience and goals. Beginners receive the time and support needed to build strong scanning fundamentals, while intermediate and advanced sonographers are challenged with more advanced image acquisition, efficiency techniques, and clinical application. Instructor-to-student ratio is strictly set at 1:3, guaranteeing that training is focused, practical, and hands-on.
Plus, the weekend allows you to choose the training that best suits your needs as you learn throughout the weekend. The beginner lecture track focuses on technique lectures and is excellent to all of those new to learning ultrasound as well as veterinary technicians. For those with a stronger interest in pathology, our pathology track allows attendees to dive deeper into normal vs. abnormal pathology, case studies, and specific organ systems. The general weekend schedule is 8:00am - 5:00pm. Plus, you receive lifetime access to recordings of all the weekend lectures, even those you didn’t attend, so you’ll be able to catch up or review on-demand once you’re home.
The training is hosted at the SonoPath Education Center & Imaging Center Campus, located in Andover, New Jersey. It features a dedicated training space with top-tier ultrasound equipment, adjustable exam tables, and dedicated monitors at each scanning station as well as a lecture hall equipped with device charging stations and 65-inch monitors.
The training weekend combines comprehensive lectures with extensive hands-on scanning in the form of three, 3-hour training sessions, allowing attendees to immediately apply newly learned techniques while receiving real-time instructor feedback.
Attendees also receive lifetime access to online educational resources, including recorded lectures, technique videos, and bonus educational materials to continue developing their skills after the course.
